Franklin High School’s Fusion Dance Company presents their annual Showcase, One Night Only: Tuesday, May 7th, 2013 at 7:00PM, in Cosumnes Oaks High School’s Performing Arts Center, 8350 Lotz Parkway, Elk Grove, CA. 95757. Fusion’s Showcase features original student choreography created throughout the 2012-2013 school year. In this year’s Showcase, Fusion performs various styles including: Jazz, Ballet, Contempory, and Hip-Hop. The show includes individual projects created by, Senior Alyssa Bishop, Senior, Caitlin Teague, Senior Julian Abella, Senior Marky Paragas, Senior Saundra Wilson, and Junior Dallas Chavez.
Aside from the individual student projects, the show also includes choreographic group projects. The show features group projects created in duos, trios, small groups, and class collaborations. One of the highlighted projects is Fusion’s message dance. Every year Fusion collaborates to create a work that addresses a social, political or economic world issue. This year’s topic is abuse; in the work Fusion explores different types of abuse, and the causes and effects of abuse. On a lighter note, the show also includes up-tempo, fun dance works including a tribute to pop group, *NSYNC.
In between each of the dances in Fusion’s Showcase, all 14 of Fusion’s graduating seniors perform a short solo to say good-bye to Fusion and the dance program at Franklin High School. The solos range in style and are all entertaining.
